Decorative wood panels that transform how your space looks and sounds
If you love clean, modern interiors but struggle with echo, noise or bare, uninspiring walls, our decorative wood panels offer a simple way to transform your space in just a few hours. You get the warmth of real wood, refined Scandinavian design and improved acoustics in one elegant solution.
Decorative wood panels with Scandinavian soul
At WoodUpp, we design and manufacture decorative wood panels in Denmark, inspired by the calm, minimal lines of Scandinavian interiors. Each panel is crafted to do more than decorate a wall – it helps you create a quieter, more inviting space where you actually enjoy spending time.
Whether you are refreshing a living room, upgrading a home office or fitting out a restaurant or hotel, our decorative wood panels bring together three things that matter: design, performance and ease of installation.

How to choose the right decorative wood panels for your project
To make the most of your new wall, consider these points when selecting your panels:
Colour and wood tone
Light oak and similar tones bring brightness and a fresh Scandinavian feel. Darker finishes create contrast and drama, ideal for media walls, lounges or restaurants. Ask yourself whether you want your decorative wood panels to blend softly with existing colours or stand out as a statement feature.
Room function
For living rooms and offices, focus on both aesthetics and acoustics. In bedrooms, prioritise a calm, soft atmosphere. In busy commercial spaces, think about how sound moves through the room and where decorative wood panels will have the most impact.
Wall area and layout
You do not always need to cover every wall. Sometimes a single, well-placed feature wall delivers the perfect balance of visual impact and acoustic comfort. Consider:
- Behind the sofa or TV in the living room.
- Behind the bed in the bedroom.
- Along a corridor or entrance wall for a strong first impression.
- Behind a reception desk or bar counter in commercial spaces.
Acoustic needs
If acoustics are a key concern, such as in open-plan offices or restaurants, plan for an installation that includes an air gap or mineral wool behind the decorative wood panels. Our team can guide you towards the right configuration for your project.

How decorative wood panels can transform different spaces
In your living room
Turn a plain TV wall into a warm, acoustic feature. Decorative wood panels behind your sofa or media unit soften sound from the television and create a calm backdrop for everyday life. The vertical lines visually lift the ceiling and make the room feel more spacious and composed.
In your home office
If you work from home, you know how tiring poor acoustics can be. Installing decorative wood panels behind your desk or on the wall opposite your screen reduces echo on video calls and helps you stay focused. The natural wood finish brings a touch of Scandinavian studio calm to your workspace.
In bedrooms and hallways
In bedrooms, decorative wood panels create a cosy, hotel-like atmosphere and reduce noise from adjoining rooms. Use them as a headboard wall or behind a reading corner for a soft, intimate feel. In hallways and entrance areas, panels protect walls from wear and add a welcoming, architectural detail as soon as you step inside.
In restaurants, cafés and hotels
For hospitality spaces, decorative wood panels solve two challenges at once: they give your interior a strong, recognisable identity and they help control sound. Guests enjoy clearer conversations without shouting over background noise, and the warm wood surfaces make the room feel inviting and high-end.
Use panels to define seating zones, highlight a bar area or create a striking ceiling treatment. The modular system makes it easy to repeat the design across multiple locations while keeping a consistent look and feel.
In offices and meeting rooms
Open-plan offices often struggle with noise and visual clutter. Installing decorative wood panels on key walls or in focus rooms improves speech clarity and reduces fatigue. Meeting rooms benefit from better acoustics for presentations and calls, while the refined wood surfaces signal quality and care for employee well-being.
Why choose WoodUpp decorative wood panels?
Refined design that elevates any room
Feature: Scandinavian-inspired slat design with real wood veneer.
Benefit: You get a warm, tactile wall that feels like furniture, not just cladding.
Our decorative wood panels are built around sleek vertical slats and a soft felt backing. The rhythm of the slats adds structure and depth, while the natural wood grain brings a sense of calm and warmth. From light oak to darker, more dramatic tones, you can choose a finish that either blends in quietly or becomes a bold feature wall.
Because the design is minimal and timeless, your decorative wood panels work with many interior styles: Nordic, Japandi, contemporary, industrial or classic. They frame your favourite furniture, art and lighting without overwhelming the room.
Acoustic performance you can feel every day
Feature: Sound-absorbing felt and slat construction.
Benefit: Less echo, clearer conversations and a calmer atmosphere.
Behind the beautiful wood surface, the felt layer in our decorative wood panels quietly does its job. It absorbs a significant part of the sound that hits it, reducing echo and harsh reverberation. Think of it like a soft sponge for noise: instead of sound bouncing around hard surfaces, it is gently absorbed.
In everyday life, this means:
- You notice fewer sharp echoes in open-plan living rooms and kitchens.
- Conversations feel clearer and more relaxed.
- Working from home becomes easier, with less distraction from background noise.
- In restaurants, offices and hotels, guests and teams enjoy a more comfortable sound level.
When combined with mineral wool behind the panels, the system can reach high sound absorption classes, helping you create spaces that are not only beautiful, but also genuinely comfortable to be in.
Decorative wood panels that are easy to install
Feature: DIY-friendly installation system.
Benefit: You can transform a wall in just a few hours, without a full renovation.
Our decorative wood panels are designed so that you do not need to be a professional carpenter to install them. With basic tools and a bit of planning, most homeowners can complete a wall in an afternoon.
The panels are mounted either with screws or strong adhesive, depending on your wall type and acoustic needs. We provide clear installation guides and video support, so you know exactly what to do at each step.
The result: a premium, built-in look without the complexity of traditional woodwork.
Responsible materials and Danish craftsmanship
Feature: Manufactured in Denmark with real wood veneer and premium felt (often from recycled plastic).
Benefit: You can enjoy refined design with a focus on quality and responsibility.
All our decorative wood panels are manufactured in Denmark, where we carefully control quality, finish and consistency. The visible surface is real wood veneer, giving you the authentic look and feel of timber. The felt backing is made from high-quality fibres, many of them recycled, supporting a more responsible approach to design.
This combination of craftsmanship and considered materials means your panels look and perform beautifully for years, even in busy spaces.
Akupanel dimensions
The Akupanel measures 2400 x 600 mm, and is made from lamellae 11 mm and 27 mm deep, with a distance of 13 mm in between.
The slats are mounted on a base of acoustic felt.
The specially developed acoustic felt is made from recycled material and is 9 mm thick.
The panel is 22 mm thick in total including the slats and the felt.
Technical details of our decorative wood panels
While we keep the experience simple, the technology behind our decorative wood panels is well considered. Here is what you can expect in practical terms:
Panel construction
- Slats in MDF or similar core, finished with real wood veneer.
- Acoustic felt backing, often made from recycled plastic fibres.
- Precise spacing between slats to balance aesthetics and sound absorption.
Acoustic performance
- Sound absorption improves significantly compared to a bare wall.
- When installed with an air gap or mineral wool behind the decorative wood panels, the system can reach high sound absorption classes (for example, Class A in many configurations).
- Performance is measured using standard acoustic tests, so both private customers and professionals can plan with confidence.
Installation overview
Typical installation steps include:
- Measure your wall and plan the layout of your decorative wood panels.
- Cut panels to height or width if needed, using appropriate tools.
- Attach panels to the wall with screws or adhesive, depending on the surface and acoustic goals.
- Finish edges and corners with matching trims if desired.
- Enjoy your new, quieter and more refined space.
We provide detailed guides and visual instructions so you can follow each step with confidence, whether you are a DIY enthusiast or a professional installer.
We value our planet, so we choose eco-friendly materials for our products
Our felt is made from recycled plastic, and all the wood we use comes from sustainable forestry. This ensures that the forest regrows more than what is cut down.
We are proud to say that all our Akupanels are produced in Denmark using sustainable materials.
Our aim is to manufacture high-quality, eco-friendly panels that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable indoor environment.
We believe it’s vital to contribute to a sustainable future, which is why our Akupanels are made solely from sustainable materials.
This way, we can guarantee that our Akupanels are not just beneficial for the room they’re placed in but also for the environment.
